A New Year

The festive period always seems to go so quickly.  I recently returned to full time work and because I'd started later in the year it meant I didn't have much annual leave to take, so the thought of 10 lovely days off work was wonderful.

As per usual, all good things have to come to an end and as I sit here with my morning coffee I feel a sense of depression coming on.  To add salt to the wounds I seem to have gained 5lbs since returning to work in September.  It may not seem a lot but it is really getting me down.   If I had sat and stuffed my face with junk I could perhaps understand it but I really haven't.  Maybe I am one of those Secret Eaters you see on the TV.   No kids here at the moment, the perfect opportunity to put the trainers on and go for a run but instead I have just downloaded ER season 7.

Kids stayed with Nana last night which let me and Mr M have some us time.  We went to see Exodus and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the film, and Christian Bale.   Was quite late by the time we got home, enough time for me to stack the dishwasher and make a cup of tea.  Oh the rock and roll lifestyle of a 31 year old.

As for New Year's resolutions, I am thinking long and hard about them just now, won't be making a huge list of unrealistic goals but simple lifestyle management goals are high on the list.  tbc.
